Calder Park promoter Peter Pisalidis has announced that the Australian Nationals on January 23 and 24, 2016 will feature the highest ever winners prize money across all categories.

Pisalidis said every single category from Group One to Group Four would have the winners prizemoney doubled.

“In an effort to encourage each and every competitor to try a little harder to win and also to reward them for it for putting on the show, we will double the winners prize money in every bracket,” he said. “Top Fuel from $11,500 will be doubled to $23,000, Competition from $2,200 will be doubled to $4,400, Super Sedan will be doubled from $900 to $1,800 and so on. This applies to all categories.

“Calder Park Drag Racing wants to ensure that competitors across all brackets understand that we appreciate their support, their investment and their contribution that when coupled with our efforts results in a spectacular show being put on for our fans. I believe that the extra money on offer will result in teams trying harder than ever to secure that ANDRA Gold Christmas Tree, resulting in more spectacular and exciting racing for both the competitors and the fans.

“I do thank all of you in advance and hope that you support Melbourne again hosting Australia’ oldest and most prestigious drag racing event, The Australian Nationals, and that you do all that you can to help make this event a success.

“We have more exciting announcements that will further reward competitors at The Australian Nationals on January 23 and 24 at Calder Park Raceway, which we’ll share with you in the following weeks (we definitely know that your stomachs will appreciate it). Entries open next week so please show your support by entering as soon as possible.

“As you all would know entries for the Rowe Memorial/Summit Sportsman Round(27th December) are open until Friday the 18th of December. Entries are growing daily for this iconic event, and looks to be as exciting as ever. Thanks you all for your continued support of Calder Park Drag Racing.”
