Mark Hayes has long been one of the most respected figures in the Australian Pro Street scene. He only added to his reputation by running his first six second pass at the Nitro Champs at Sydney Dragway on Saturday.
Hayes was competing in the Pro 10.5 class when he unloaded the pass from the monster 763ci – still running just one nitrous kit. After clocking 1.09 to the 60 foot timers, Hayes danced the front wheels to the eighth mile in 4.513/159mph before tearing through for a 6.990/196.
