Australian drag racers Anthony Begley and Rod Bailey and their team are readying the Chemical Warfare Nitro Funny Car to head to the USA later this year for the final two events of the NHRA season in Las Vegas and Pomona.

The new car has been in the works for some time now but the reality is starting to dawn on the team with flights booked and plans put in place for their first time racing in the States.

“The car is just about ready to go with a few alterations left to be track ready,” the team said via their Facebook page. “The guys have really put in this week as this time last weekend it looked a distant reality.

“We aim to test next Saturday and are hoping for good results as we will only have a further six weeks for it to be on its way to the US where a few more items need to be recertified before Vegas at the end of October.

“The plan is Vegas and Pomona in October/November. Only hoping to qualify but most of all have a good time.”
