The first round of ANDRA’s Rocket All Star Series, the Fuchs Nationals, has been run and won with many an upset occurring.

One such upset was that of Shayne Homes, the current Competition Bike Champion who after top qualifying exited early in the quarter finals after making a strategic error.

Although not featuring in Sunday’s final, Shayne was still able to take home one milestone when he ran the first 9 second elapsed time for a D/SB, top qualifying his 599cc powered Suzuki GSXR600 with a blistering 9.985 @ 134.95 MPH.

“One of my goals this season was to run a 9 second pass with this bike. I was blown away being able to run it on the first pass of the first round at the Nationals,” Homes said.

“I was disappointed with myself not taking the opportunity to back it up in racing. The record will have to wait for another day,” he said

Although Shayne didnt back up his nine elapsed time in eliminations he was able to set a new Sydney Dragway ET Record at 10.148 for the class.

Shayne would like to thank Ray Treasure and all the Sydney Dragway Team for providing a great event and track that enabled his Powerhouse Dyno tuned machine to run the numbers.

Homes will be returning for Willowbank’s New Years Series which is Round Three of the ANDRA Rocket All Star Series on January the 14 and 15th.
