The team is back home from their penultimate round at Sydney Dragway, ready to defend their championship title to the end.

Conditions on track proved a challenge on the first day of qualifying, whilst all teams failed to launch a successful run due to low temperatures.

The team was devasted to be out in the first round
Saturday’ weather was ordered to perfection at a crowded Sydney Dragway round of Nitro Top Fuel action.  Both qualifying passes ended with the Fuchs Top Fuel Dragster shaking the tyres with out a successful pass. “Theo tuned the race car very aggressively for Saturday sessions – unfortunately the race track couldn’t handle the power” said Phil Lamattina.

Sunday brought the start of racing with the first round of eliminations as The Fuchs Top Fueler lined up against Martin Stamatis. We were confident that we’d overcome our issues from qualifying, conditions were perfect for a top day of Nitro action.  Stamatis took the win taking the pass at 4.71 seconds by .006 seconds to our 4.72 @ 320 mph. “The team was devastated that we were out in the first pass.  This will be the fuel to defend our championship at the Winternationals at Willowbank in June” Said Phil.

Mark Mariani defeated Phil Read in the final to take the win for the weekend. Congratulations on your first win in your rookie Season from the LTFR team.

Martin Stamatis is in the lead on the point’s ladder sitting on 505 points, second Phil Read at 490 points.  LTFR’s Phil Lamattina in third place – 480 points.
