The lights are set to drop and the fun begins at the JSM John Sorensen Memorial on Friday 14 May at Hidden Valley Drag Strip.  The third event in the Beat the Heat Off Street Series is sure to pull a hungry crowd.

Named after the late John Sorensen, crew chief for the Beat the Heat team, the Sorensen family has donated the Sorensen Memorial Perpetual Trophy to be awarded on the night.

“The first two events this year have been very impressive with above average entrants and spectator attendance.” said HVDRA Vice President Jay Jukes. “John would have been very proud to see everyone coming to race their mates at Hidden Valley. We are betting that everyone will have the adrenalin pumping and we can’t wait to see some of Darwin’s fastest street cars and bikes back on the quarter mile.”

The Perfect Reaction Challenge has jackpotted to $300 for the first person to net a perfect reaction.
“It is very rare for a racer to get a perfect reaction with some competitors never achieving it in their racing career. But it’s a fantastic incentive for all racers regardless of their vehicles performance” said Jukes.

Local mechanical workshop, JSM Performance has also come onboard and is offering some great cash prizes as part of the Hogs Breath Mini Eliminator.
With Reaction Challenges, heads up grudge racing, as well as handicap racing all in the one night there it is set to be action packed entertainment.
Gates open at 6pm with racing from 7pm. Spectators only $10 with catering facilities available.
