The second night of Santo’s Super 3 at Willowbank Raceway was rained out after the qualifying shootout for the pros.

Top Fuel began with solid numbers as Wayne Newby led the way on a 4.574 pass at 307mph. A personal best 4.657 from Peter Xiberras followed in second while Australian champion Damien Harris would have started third with a 4.705.

A 5.468 from night one winner Gary Phillips held firm for top spot in Pro Alcohol, followed by a 5.669 from Rob Ambruosi and a 5.696 by Wayne Price.

Lee Bektash’s 7.038 left him as top qualifier with no where to race in Pro Stock, while Chris Matheson was again the class of the field in Top Bike after a 6.527.

The next round of the 400 Thunder championship takes place at Sydney Dragway for the Nitro Champs.
