King of the Hill by Hayley Turns 47

Calder Park played host to the $5,000-to-win King of The Hill grudge race on Australia Day.

The rules called for radial tyres and an eighth mile distance, giving plenty of teams an opportunity for victory. In the end it came down to two Fords – Frank Marchese’s Drag Challenge-winning Ford XW and the Ford Capri of Danko Knezevic.

Knezevic was the underdog going into the final but in an epic 5.26 to 5.29 decider he claimed the victory over Marchese.

Other winners included Jason Keily in Comp, Michael Vlasakakis in DYO and James Atkinson in the Foot Race (see pictures in our gallery for what that means).
