The entertainment won’t just be confined to the racetrack from the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car Night of Fire, with an A-37B Dragon Fly Ground Attack Jet Fighter set to scream through the sky over Sydney Dragway as part of an air show display.

The A-37B Dragon Fly that will be performing for the event utilises twin General Electric J85-17A turbojet engines that generate an impressive 2850lbs of thrust through each engine!

All that thrust means the A-37B Dragon Fly can ‘flyby’ at more than 750 kilometres per hour.

Series Manager Steve Bettes was very excited to confirm the appearance of the jet as a part of an impressive entertainment package for the event.

“If you haven’t seen this plane before, you are in for a treat.

“It’s loud, incredibly fast and very agile, watching Chad at work in this machine is worth the admission price on it’s own, it’s awesome to watch just how impressive it is.

The pilot of the beast is Chad Dunn.

Chad explained, “I can’t wait to put on a show for the fans at Sydney Dragway, this is a great event and we are glad we can add to the fun for the crowd.”

“ I know drag racing fans like noise and speed, so we don’t have to hold back, we can really have some fun.

Bettes concluded “But that’s not where the surprises end, we have an fire canon flame show with eight fire canons as well as kids rides, face painting and clowns and stay tuned, there will be more announcements to come!”
