Daniel “Pazzo” Nunziante etched his name into Australian Pro Street history once again with the first six second pass on radial tyres in the country. A private track hire at Sydney Dragway set the scene for a hectic test day, here is lowdown.

Twenty odd cars opted for the chance to test and the day started with some top shelf performances before a brief, but heavy rain shower ended the promising day. Testing did get under way again in the late afternoon but the cool temperature virtually made any chance of track adhesion impossible.

Pazzo’s record breaking run came at cost, a late chute pull saw the Cortina plough into the catch net causing some significant panel damage. The care factor though seemed to be non existent, it had been a rough road to the record at times and realisation had set in.

There is a Mazda RX7 there somewhere, though there is no rotary aboard. This new ride for Lou Cosentino has a GAS Motorsport 2JZ between the rails, Cosentino only made some familiarisation passes.
