Super Comp was bolstered by a number of hi-revving imports with Sydney Jamboree not far off. It would also be the last time we would see Terry Seng in Les Winter’s ’55 Chev as the Australia’s quickest LS powered machine will move on to a new owner.

Tony Bellert cut a path through the imports in eliminations to face another in Archie Kajewski for the final. A 6.70 from Kajewski Mazfix Mazda6 in qualifying meant he would be able to hold his own against a consistent Bellert who was on a 6.99 index. A slow light from the Mazda and a 7.51 saw Bellert storm away with the win in the dragster with a 6.96.

Comp Bike turned into a easy win for Phil Earl on his CC/CBI ride with a 7.59 pass when Darrel Hinson shut off and rolled to the finish.

The rest of the classes were running a three round format with the two best performers throwing down in a final. In Top Sportsman, Damien Morris pulled the trigger seven thousandths too early knocking off a cherry giving Paul Doeblien and easy victory.

Transplanted Kiwi Lee Sherwin left too much on the tree with his Escort letting Patrick Barron come home in his Beretta for a 9.23 on a 9.12 win in Super Sedan.

Benni Dreyer was unopposed in the Super Street final when Adam White could not front the tree.
