Persisting drizzle forced organizers to cancel day one of qualifying at the O’Reilly Auto Parts North West Nationals at Pacific Raceway, Seattle.

“Its always disappointing when you go to the track ready to race and it rains.” Said team owner Santo Rapisarda. “We were about 2 hours from our first run, had fired up the car up ready to hit the track when it started to drizzle. We then  just sat around hoping that it would clear. The forecast for tomorrow is better and looks like we will get to race.”

The Pacific Raceway track holds fond and precious memories for RAI star Tommy Johnson. “It was here that I won my first ever Top Fuel “Wally,” Johnson reflected. “I beat Cory McClenathan in the final. It was a memorable also for the fact that Kurt Johnson won Pro Stock and the late Blaine Johnson won in Alcohol Dragster.
