After the sale of the Spinozzi Racing Pontiac GTO, new plans have been put into place to bring the team further ahead in development and performance. The Spinozzi Racing team would like to announce that for the upcoming ANDRA Pro Series Pro Stock season they will be campaigning a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro built by Jerry Haas Race Cars.

At the completion of last season Spinozzi Racing had started making a name for themselves in the Australian Pro Stock ranks with the help of Adelaides Rino Conte of RC Performance Engines. RC Performance Engines are performing continuous development on the engine, including designing a new cylinder head, which was run for the first time at the Winternationals with very good results. They are continuing to test valve-train design to provide strong power plants throughout the season, with the aim of consistent six second passes.

During the last half of 2011-2012 season, Spinozzi Racing aligned themselves with Cale Aronson of Aronson Motorsports. Cale who competes in the ADRL class of Extreme Pro Stock is well known for his clutch, gearing and chassis tuning knowledge.

“Spinozzi Racing has found even more gains since teaming with Cale Aronson from Aronson Motorsports. Cale brings a wealth of knowledge in the clutch tuning department. Since the formation of the new partnership, we’re now running a RAM Clutch, a clutch that is not widely used in the Australian Pro Stock category. The next step of the process was to introduce a new car into the program and we believe that this is the best way to do it,” said Emilio Spinozzi.

Spinozzi explains that the new car will showcase the latest state-of-the-art technology.

“The car will utilise some of the latest technology in design, suspension and aerodynamics and most importantly will have been designed for the Australian spec 400ci engine programs.

“Whilst working on improving the suspension, the team turned to Eric Davis at Penske Racing Shocks Midwest, who has worked with Aronson and a large amount of the ADRL and NHRA professional teams.

“Eric is working with us to build a reliable system that will help us use the unique characteristics of the new chassis and design, with the overall idea of a 400 cubic inch program rather than just 500 cubic inch NHRA car,” he said.

The Spinozzi Racing Camaro is well on the way to completion with Emilio recently returning home from Jerry Haas’ chassis building shop where he completed fit up procedures for the new ride. The Camaro is being built by Jerry Haas’ lead chassis builder, Randy Douthitt, who has been responsible for building the Dodge Avenger of the current 2012 NHRA Full Throttle points leader.

The car is coming along quickly and should be in Australia prior to Christmas.

Spinozzi Racing would like to thank sponsors Terra Civil, Hitatchi Construction Machinery, RC Performance Engines, Aronson Motorsports, Aeroflow, Pro-Filer Performance Products, Ram Clutches, Liberty’s Gears, Pasta Italia, Optimum Fire, Al’s Race Glides, Smithfield Diff and Gear, Race Teknix, VP Racing Fuels, Kemps Creek Mitre 10, Corfield Media Solutions and Plannedsigns for their continued patience during the time that the team awaits the arrival of the new Camaro.
