Three days of extensive testing have culminated to a stunning conclusion when the Paul Mouhayet driven Moits Racing twin turbo Mustang landed a one-two final punch combination to knock out Australia’s first five second Outlaw 10.5 pass and World Outlaw 10.5 speed record.

The lows of looking at a pile of damaged aluminum a few months ago, leaving the the team dejected while trying to achieve their feat of pushing a sedan on 10.5″ rubber quicker and faster than any one before them were forgotten today. With some vigor the team had returned to the track over the past couple of weeks with their twin turbo Muzzy tuned by the boys at C&V Performance who already have the fastest sedan in world title to their list of credential in Rob Campisi. Times started to drop steadily and soon Mouhayet was the quickest 10.5 car in Australia surpassing Campisi, now pumped, three days of more testing were planned to go in for the kill.

The first two days netted consistent 6.07’s and 249MPH speeds just shy of the world speed record even with a niggling ignition problem, the third day was during round six of the NSW Championship which would produce optimum track conditions. After a 6.06/248MPH ET PB earlier pass the teamed then unleashed a 6.03 at 251MPH nailing the speed World Record, as proud achievement this was Mouyahet only had one focus and that was a five second ET.

With the sun off the track it was all or nothing now, a 1.029 sixty footer lead to a 4.03/196MPH half track time, a power wheelstand into top gear and the Mustang hauled through the traps stopping the clocks at 5.990 seconds and a storming World Record 252.95MPH speed releasing emotional start line scenes.

With this goal achieved where too now?, Mouhayet simply promises to take it to the “next level”.
