Team Bray Entertainment’s new 1963 DEWALT Corvette burnout car is now tried and tested ahead of its upcoming official Mount Panorama debut later this week, thanks to Sydney Dragway’s Burnout Mania.
Ben Bray completed four burnout sessions in his new machine in front of delighted spectators at the Labour Day event which doubled as a test opportunity for the car ahead of its performance debut at this year’s Bathurst 1000 (10-13 October).

Joining in the fun was lucky spectator Adam Woodyatt who won the rare chance to go for a ride with Ben during one of the sessions. Also taking to the burnout pad in the passenger seat across the day were TBE team members Graeme Frawley, Anthony Vloedmans and Richard Smith.

“As the engineer and builder/designer of my new beast, of course Graeme had the first ride of the day,” said Ben Bray.

“Not only did he deserve it, but a brand new car rarely enjoys its first hit-out without any dramas – we were very pleased to only encounter minor issues in the throttle cable and breather system.

“We uploaded a video shortly after the first burnout and within two hours it had been viewed more than 20,000 times – apparently the fans loved the car’s performance as much as we did!” laughed Ben Bray.

Team member Richard Smith was another one to vouch for the car’s performance.

“It was just phenomenal being in the passenger seat as Ben took this amazing new machine to the burnout pad at Sydney Dragway,” said Richard Smith.

“At one stage I could not see for all the smoke and yet Ben still had his foot on the load pedal, I remember thinking that I really hope he knows where we are on the pad as I sure don’t!

“It  really is a testament to his skills as a driver to be able to perform as he does, with massive smoke for the spectators while keeping everyone involved safe, it truly was a unique experience.”

Team Bray Entertainment will now head to Mount Panorama for the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 where they will put on a three-car burnout show as part of the event’s official on-track entertainment program.
