RayTreasure091112It has been confirmed what has been buzzing around the internet since yesterday that Ray Treasure has resigned from his position of Track Manager at Sydney Dragway.

Ray Treasure made the annoucement via his Facebook page:

Firstly thank you all for your overwhelming support in regards to the recent developments of my position here at Sydney Dragway. We have all been through a lot together rebuilding the sport here and I have made so many good friends and through your encouragement it gave me the strength to push on and get us to where we are today. Words cannot express how much your support during those tough times meant to me.

I have received formal acceptance of my resignation as of this morning and after a brief conversations I know I cannot continue in my role here at Sydney Dragway the way I have enjoyed in the past.

Once again thank you for your support and I urge you all to please to continue to support Sydney Dragway as the premier Drag Racing venue in the country. Recently Andrew Sharp has been fully in charge of the track preparation and his race day team, and I am sure everyone would agree they are in the upper echelon of event day staff in country.

Once gain thank you all for your amazing support from the time I got here 4 years ago. From the bottom of my heart thank you and I will see you around the traps.”

The news has shocked the drag racing community who have expressed an outpouring of support for Ray Treasure and credit him for being the driving force behind Sydney Dragway’s turn around in racer confidence with the venue.

More to come.
