Perth Motorplex has added to its office with two new members of staff, with former ANDRA TV host Matt Naulty coming on board as commentary and media coordinator while Daniel Miocevich takes up the role of sales and marketing manager.

Naulty (above, image by Phil Luyer/High Octane Photos) said it was a great opportunity to be involved with the Perth Motorplex on a full time basis.

“I came here in 2008 as a commentator for the speedway and drag racing and nowhere else in Australia or the world for that matter caters for both of these great sports on a weekly basis at a venue as awesome as the Motorplex is,” he said.

“I believe the timing is right to get involved in a full-time capacity, there are some exciting new things coming up over the next few months and some great people with plenty of talent and enthusiasm whom I have had a great working relationship in the past.

“I can’t wait to see what lays ahead for us as a venue and collective.”

Perth Motorplex general manager Kevin Prendergast said Naulty’s background was well known and respected.

“It’s on the back of these attributes, as the various forms and functions we undertake moving forward here at Perth Motorplex, will see these skills as invaluable assets to us into the future,” he said

Daniel grew up around motorsport and has now decided to follow his passion and join the Perth Motorplex team as the sales and marketing manager.

“I am excited about the move to the Perth Motorplex,” he said.

“There is an incredible amount of experience in this organisation, so the key for me will be to soak up as much of it as possible. In saying that, I have a bit of a head start as I’ve been around drag racing and speedway since before I could walk.

“We have a great team at the Perth Motorplex and I’m looking forward to doing my part to promote and grow the sport in Western Australia. I’ve been to numerous Formula One Grand Prix in Melbourne and Asia over the years and I have to say, I’d pick an event at ‘The Plex’ any day! You just can’t beat the raw energy of drag racing and speedway as well as the ability to get close to the action in the pits.”

On Miocevich, Prendergast said it was part of a diversification of skills in the office.

“We are in a process of diversifying and tooling-up our business to cope with the ever expanding requirements of this industry and Daniel is a key and welcome part of all that,” he said.
