STAUNCH solidifies Mod Street Blown #1 – update

The [STAUNCH] Modified Street Blown Torana with Simon Kryger subbing in the driver’s seat set a new benchmark at Sydney Dragway in a private test session recently.

With car owner Johnny Wilson unable to attend the day, Kryger the car builder was enlisted to skid the Torana now running a new combo from Westend Performance.

Early passes on a cold track resulted in tyre spin, until the last pass of the day yielded a 7.63 @ 189.2 MPH, the quickest and fastest for the class and the first over 300 KPH.

“It’s good to get the car down the track, now it’s time to play, we have put a lot of home work into this combo we will soon find out what a stock body Torana is capable of!” Wilson said.

A lot of power was removed to get the car down the track with the 1.38 short time over a tenth off the Torana’s best.

The car will be heading to Palmyra Dragway in Mackay along with Simon Kryger’s own Torana for this weekend’s Pro Street Shootout.

UPDATE – At the Palmyra Pro Street Shootout with Johnny Wilson back behind the wheel the [STAUNCH] Torana went even quicker clocking a 7.59 ET at a slower 185 MPH after several pedals.
