Heat Treatment GTR bound for Jamboree

The world record holding Nissan GT-R of Reece McGregor from Heat Treatment Limited in New Zealand, is on its way to the 2010 Jamboree.

The HTL plans for a return trip to the Jamboree took a hit in early April, when thieves broke into their workshop and made off with the GT-R’s wheels, tyres and race seat. While the parts have not be recovered yet, the team has sourced replacement parts putting them back on track for J20.

The HTL GT-R holds the record for the quickest All Wheel Drive car in the world with a 7.57 @ 191.6 mph which the team set at the 2006 Jamboree.

Since then the 2.8 litre RB26 engine has undergone further development. With the help of Andre Simons from Speedtech Motorsport, the team have netted a gain of 110hp at the wheels, over what they had in 2006 when it ran the 7.57sec pass. Along with further chassis development the team are confident they can improve on their results from 2006. The team arrives in Oz early August and look forward to testing the new combo at Willowbank in the lead up to J20.
