Fuchs Lubricants has renewed their sponsorship to naming rights of the Lamattina Top Fuel Racing Dragster in 2010, with the partnership now entering into its seventh year.
Both LTFR and Fuchs are excited about the upcoming Australian Top Fuel Championship season.

After meeting with Wayne Hoiles, managing director of Fuchs Lubricants, Phil Lamattina said the team were thrilled to have signed a deal with Fuchs.

“Since we got involved in drag racing, Fuchs has been there every step of the way and to have them on board again for next season is great news for the team,” he said.

According to Phil, the partnership between Fuchs and the Lamattina family extends much further than financial support of the team.

“We genuinely have a very strong relationship with all the people at Fuchs and in turn there are mutual benefits, especially in product development. We exclusively use Fuchs lubricants on our carrot farms and have done for a number of years and we can proudly say we have never had a single problem with any of their products,” he said.

“Last season we were disappointed not to win back to back championships. The car was consistently quick all season and at the Winternationals our chances to retain our title disappeared when we smoked the tyres in second round and were eliminated.”

Looking forward to the 2010/2011 season, LTFR once again have a brand new paint scheme currently being designed by Youngblood Ink. It will again carry on the hugely successful ‘Carrot Man’ that fans loved from last season. Along with this the team will have their transporter and team uniforms totally refreshed, with some new sponsors appearing for next season that will be announced in the coming weeks.

“In the off-season along with the yearly freshen up of paint and uniforms, we restock the inventory and make sure we’ve got everything on track to go testing in early August. The Fuchs Australian Nationals generally comes around pretty fast so it’s critical to be well prepared,” Lamattina said.

“Theo Pavlomanolakos who tunes the car will also be taking on a full time role dedicated to just the Fuchs Top Fuel Dragster. This has been a major step forward in LTFR’s quest to regain championship glory. We have the car, a terrific crew and all the right equipment to do so and it will be up to me to fill the last piece in the jigsaw.”

The first round of the Australian Top Fuel Championship kicks off at the Fuchs Australian Nationals at Sydney Dragway on 10-13 September.
