WA Supercharged Outlaws racer Jon Ferguson will have his 55 Chev ‘Matilda’ at Perth Motorplex this weekend after a short break from racing.

While he has been keeping busy with some Junior Dragsters, Ferguson’s weekends are about to get much noisier courtesy of the rust-wrapped doorslammer, which the team has been fine tuning in the shed.

“We’re all super excited to have Matilda back on track, I really can’t wait to get out there and do a skid,” he said.

“The car is a lot more comfortable now, last year was a bit rushed and things weren’t quite right so we’ve taken our time to get her happy this time around.

“We would love to do the test and tune however work commitments don’t allow so our goals for this meeting are to hopefully run into the high sixes and get some data for the Westernationals. We’d like to have a good old go at it then and basically prepare for next season.

“I’m feeling good about the whole deal as it’s been no pressure and no rush, happy days!”

The Goldenstates commence on Friday at Perth Motorplex.
