Nikki Hepburn etched her name again in the Sport Compact history books at the 50th Winternationals with the world’s first radial tyre six second Sport Compact pass.

Hepburn who was the current holder of the record at 7.021 seconds has made an epic return to the track after a devastating crash in the Pro Turbo final at the Sydney Jamboree just a few short months ago. With the Boosted86 Racing GT86 repaired and back on track just a week before the Winternationals for a shakedown, the focus was back on that elusive six second timeslip.

The GT86 still retains many stock components that allows the car to retain its production car looks, and is powered by a destroked 1FZ 4L inline six cylinder with a 98mm single turbo punching out a couple of thousand ponies.

On her third Factory Xtreme qualifier at Willowbank Raceway’s 50th Winternationals, Hepburn smashed out a 6.988 at 196mph, and history would be her’s.
