Frankie Taylor, the world’s quickest and fastest blown doorslammer driver over the quarter-mile, will drive a Pro Slammer for Team Bray Racing and Gulf Western Oil at the upcoming AC Delco East Coast Thunder Nationals.

To be held at Sydney Dragway on November 3 and 4, the event will see the Texan drag racing star debut for the team in a driving capacity in a brand-new Corvette.

The race car is a twin-sister of Ben Bray’s own Gulf Western Oil-supported Corvette and allows Taylor to fill-in for team principal and six-time champion Victor Bray while keeping Victor’s ’57 Chev just for him.

Taylor will arrive on the 26th of October from his home in Texas ready for testing ahead of the November event.

“How quickly life turns around hey!” exclaimed Taylor, who will sport a black livery carrying the branding of GWO’s Top Dog cutting-edge indestructible diesel oil at the Sydney event.

“I was planning on coming over to race with TBR and now I am standing in for the big man himself.

“Earlier in the year I was going to come over to race a third car with the team at the Winternationals, but due to Victor’s health issues that didn’t end up happening.

“Now, as Victor continues his recovery, I am humbled to have the chance to fly the TBR flag for him and to represent Gulf Western Oil at the AC Delco Nationals. I am confident we will be able to put a good show on for all the fans in Sydney.

“I will be traveling over with my brother Paul and long-time crew member Jeremy, so make sure you keep an eye out for three big Texans traveling to Australia from the USA in the coming weeks!” laughed the multiple record and championship holder.

Victor Bray said he was looking forward to seeing what Taylor could do.

“Frankie Taylor is a ‘brother’ of ours, a real team player, and a great racer,” Bray said.

“While I am itching to get back on the track myself, I am really looking forward to being at Sydney and assisting Ben- even though he has been doing a great job in my absence – as my recovery period continues. We are at three months down, with a few months still to go.

“It is going to be a big event in Sydney, and I know Frankie and Ben will do us proud and help TBR and Gulf Western Oil put on a great show for all the fans.”
