After completing a positive day of testing at Sydney Dragway, US drag racing star Frankie Taylor is ready and raring to go for this weekend’s AC Delco East Coast Thunder Nationals (3 and 4 November) at Sydney Dragway.

Taylor, the former world’s quickest and fastest blown Doorslammer driver over the quarter mile, is driving a Pro Slammer for Team Bray Racing and Gulf Western Oil at the event.

The Texan completed four passes during testing on Wednesday while TBR’s Ben Bray undertook two in his own Corvette Pro Slammer, with lots of data collected for the new set-up which is being run on both cars this weekend.

“I am really happy with how testing went – after only four passes in a brand new car, we recorded a five-second pass and that was with an early shut off!” Frankie said.

“It is going to be a tough event with 16 cars, including the likes of Paul Mouhayet, Scott Maclean and John Zappia, all of which have run in the 5.60s.

“Ben is currently the fourth quickest Slammer in the country at 5.70s flat, and he would love to get into the 5.60 club on the weekend – truth be told, so would I!

“With a lot of data collected today, both of our Gulf Western Oil Corvettes will be putting on a great show this weekend.”

Always intent on putting on an entertaining package for the fans, Ben Bray will be pulling double duty this weekend – driving his Gulf Western Oil burnout car alongside his Pro Slammer racing.

“It is going to be a big event, that is for sure. There will be nine Top Fuel cars with no less than three female drivers which is sure to be very cool for the fans, 16 Pro Slammers, burnout cars and more,” Ben said.

“We have made some great discoveries during testing and I can’t wait to see what we can do for the Sydney fans this weekend.”
