Team Bray want final round lock out at Sydney Dragway

The last time Team Bray Racing competed at the Santo’s Summer Thunder event at Sydney Dragway, they locked out the final. It is no surprise then that 12 months on, the team is keen for a repeat performance this Saturday, January 20.

This time around, Ben Bray will be joined by US drag racing star Frankie Taylor in taking on the one-day event.

“Last year dad (Victor Bray) and I enjoyed an all-Bray final at January’s Sydney event, and so we are definitely hoping that Frankie and I can lock out the final once again this weekend,” said Ben, who is currently third in the Pro Slammer championship standings.

“There are 11 Pro Slammers lined up for the event so the competition is set to be fierce, but we will be doing all we can to make it another all-TBR finale.

“Willowbank Raceway’s New Years Thunder event earlier this month allowed us to make some changes to the engine and drivetrain combo that are showing plenty of promise, so we are going to be fine-tuning those and hopefully it will stand us in good stead!”

While the TBR truck will leave the workshop on Wednesday evening, Frankie will be making his entrance on Friday evening after a quick trip back to the States was required between events.

“After the New Years Thunder event I quickly flew back to the US to take care of some business, but I will be back in time for Santo’s Summer Thunder – including some Friday night testing!” Frankie said.

“I am really enjoying racing with TBR and to be fifth in the championship so far even though I missed out on round one of the Series is pretty pleasing – hopefully, I can advance those standings a little further moving forward.”
