The Winternationals saw the culmination of a Mega year for the Tremaniac drag racing team.
An impressive start by the team saw Aaron taking the Pro Stock win at East Coast Thunder in Sydney and then backing it up with a win at his home track Willowbank.
From there it was on to Adelaide where Tyronne stepped up to the mark by defeating his brother in the final. Back to Sydney and Gulf Western Oil Nitro Thunder where Aaron went runner up after getting pipped at the line by the Tremaniac-powered car of Wayne Daley.
Finally it was to the Gulf Western Oil Winternationals, where Tyronne was top qualifier last year but this year was relegated to third as Aaron took top spot, with Daley slotting into second. Qualifying secured the 2018 400 Thunder Pro Stock Championship for Aaron. On race day both cars advanced to the final with convincing wins in the early rounds, with both cars in the sixes. Tyronne ran the quickest pass of the event at 6.95 while Aaron got top speed with a high 197mph pass.
The final round came down to brother against brother. Aaron had the slight advantage on the line and when Tyronne lost traction down track Aaron was able to pull away for a win.
“What an impressive winning streak the team has had with Aaron being in the finals in every event over the last two seasons, and three times the brothers were together in the final fighting it out for gold,” said team owner Kerry Tremayne.
“Aaron has now won the Australian Pro Stock Championship seven times and been runner-up twice. Tyronne has been runner-up eight times with six of these being runner-up to his brother. “Tremaniac Racing would like to give a mega thanks to their major sponsor Mega Bulk Fuels.
