Following the recent Winternationals with Mark Belleri stepping down as pilot for the ACDelco Pro Slammer Monaro and giving the team a 3rd position in the 2017-18 400 Thunder Championship, the AC Delco Slammer Drag Racing team were proud to announce today their new driver for the coming season which kicks of in Darwin in just over a month.

AE4R4083Mark Hinchelwood is the new ACDelco Pro Slammer driver, coming back after a three year lay-off, following serious injuries received from a Funny Car incident at Sydney Dragway in 2015. Mark is back fitter and stronger than ever, having just completed a season in the Motorsport Connections Sprintcar. Mark Hinchelwood’s immediate challenge is to get his Pro Slammer licence which he half completed today, running 6 launches and a 1000′ pass, with the grateful assistance of Mark and Lucky Belleri.

“The ACDelco Pro Slammer Monaro is one of the fastest cars in the country and I am pumped about the opportunity to drive again, and it’s not lost on me that I have some big shoes to fill,” stated Mark, prior to preparing for a trip to Melbourne to meet with the ACDelco management team.
