A six car team of Australians is heading to the USA to compete with the best sport compact cars in the world later this year.

Collin Willshire (Jett Racing Mitsubishi Eclipse, world’s quickest four cylinder sedan), Kelly Bettes (Jett Racing Datsun ute), Scott Porter (Nissan 350Z, second quickest Nissan in the world), Nikki Hepburn (Toyota 86, quickest sport compact on radials in the world), Rod Harvey (Australia’s quickest sport compact) and Archie Kajewski (Mazda 6, fifth quickest rotary in the world) will be making the long trip around the world to contest the World Sport Compact Challenge and the Sports Compact Finals in Orlando.

Nikki Hepburn says she is “beyond excited” for the once in a lifetime opportunity to race on a world stage.

“We are still currently the world’s quickest and fastest import radial car and we hope to further that record while we are over there,” she said. “Although the car has only been running for a few short years, what we have managed to achieve as a team has been incredible and we are constantly finding ways to improve the car to give it the very best chance possible.

“We believe our car is extremely unique as it is able to run both slick and radial events without changing the set-up and still be competitive across the board, which gives us a lot of opportunities to race throughout the year.

“At the end of the trip the car will also be going on display on the Supertech stand at the PRI Show in Indianapolis, where the car will be on display to thousands of traders and spectators from all over the world. This trip wouldn’t be possible without the help of our great sponsors: JW Automotive, 6 Boost, Link ECU, Turbosmart, Plazmaman, GCG Turbos, Huebner Toyota, Boosted Fire, Boninfante Friction and Supertech/Fabre Australia – thank you.”
