Sidchrome has taken on a full team sponsorship deal with Team Bray Racing for three years.

Victor Bray and son Ben need no introduction in the highly charged world of drag racing. The eight times Top Doorslammer and one time Top Alcohol champions have teamed up with Sidchrome in a deal that was always meant to be according to Sidchrome brand manager Ben Hall.

Sidchrome has been a part of Team Bray racing for several years as a product sponsor, but the relationship spans several generations.

“My Granddad, my Dad and my uncles all used Sidchrome tools on the farm as far back as I can remember,” Victor Bray said.

“Actually many of the farm tools from 20 and 30 years ago have found their way into my toolbox and are still used on the race cars today.”

The sponsorship deal covers both Victor’s ’57 Chevorlet and Ben’s ’05 CV8X Holden Monaro as well as all ancillary cars from 1 January 2011 until at least the end of 2013.

“The Sidchrome Brand has enjoyed a full makeover in the past 18 months, with new branding, a massive surge in new product development and a real focus on engaging the general public,” Mr Hall said.

“The Team Bray sponsorship is the logical next step – uniting Australia’s highest profile drag team with Australia’s highest profile brand of tools. Drag racing is enjoying phenomenal growth in this country and Sidchrome is delighted to jump on board for the adrenalin-filled ride.”

Victor’s Chevy, complete with new Sidchrome livery will be unveiled at Bathurst on Friday 8 October at 12pm during this year’s Bathurst 1000 event.

What’s next for team Bray Racing?

“Obviously we aim at winning every event we attend but with the class becoming more competitive we are reaching deep into our bag of tricks to find not only more horsepower but an even deeper understanding of the cars,” Victor said.

“Our goals are to stay at the pointy end of performance and always having fun. Benny and I are just stoked to be associated with such an iconic brand.”
