The eight event Championship Series will kick off at Springmount Raceway in North Queensland on August 23-24 with bonus points on offer in all Sportsman categories.

Willowbank Raceway will host round two with the Sportsman Thunder scheduled on Saturday October 5 again featuring all Sportsman categories. The event date was chosen to take advantage of the long weekend with a high dollar ‘Dash 4 Cash’ bracket event on the Sunday to provide an attractive weekend of racing for competitors.

Sydney Dragway’s Atlantic Oils East Coast Thunder will see the first of the split rounds for the season on October 1-2 as Supercharged Outlaws, Top Sportsman, Modified, Modified Bike, Pro Radial and Super Gas race alongside a full Professional category program.

The Series then moves to Willowbank Raceway’s New Years Thunder on January 4 with Modified, Modified Bike, Super Street, Pro Radial, Junior Dragster and Super Gas competing beside the Pro categories of Top Fuel, Pro Alcohol, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Bike.

The Santo’s Summer Thunder at Sydney Dragway on January 17-18 will be contested by all Sportsman categories along with Top Fuel and Pro Slammer.

Good Friday, April 10 is the Super Thunder at Willowbank Raceway with Super Comp, Comp Bike, Supercharged Outlaws, Top Sportsman and Super Sedan on the program as well as the Pro categories of Top Fuel, Pro Slammer, Pro Alcohol and Top Bike.

The final points scoring opportunity of the season at Sydney Dragway for Super Comp, Competition Bike, Super Sedan, Super Street & Junior Dragster will be at the Gulf Western Oil Nitro Thunder on May 1-2 beside a full complement of Pro Categories.

As always, all championships for every category of 400 Thunder Drag Racing will conclude at Willowbank Raceway’s Gulf Western Oil Winternationals over four day from June 4 to 7.

APDR Chairman, Tony Wedlock, commented, “400 Thunder is continuing to discuss potential dates with other venues and these discussions are ongoing. There may be a possibility of additional dates being added into the 2019-2020 calendars for both Professional and Sportsman Championships.”

400 Thunder Live Broadcast Partner, OVO Mobile, who will live stream all Sportsman action from six of the eight Championship events have launched three levels of subscription for the coming season.

Pricing will be as follows:

7 day pass: AUD $9.99

3 month pass: AUD $24.99

12 month pass: AUD $49.99

Announcing the new offer, OVO CEO Matt Jones, said “Customers now only need to subscribe once to get all the action across the whole season. This pricing encourages racers and fans to make the call to get an annual pass for all six events, versus bothering with seven days, or at best, fitting two events into a $24.99 pass when six events are only $49.99. That’s less than fifty cents per hour of live coverage.”

In addition to all the live event broadcasts, all subscription levels include unlimited access to catch-up viewing of OVO Play’s complete library of previous 400 Thunder events including past seasons. OVO Mobile customers will again be able to stream all content data free. Passes will be available in October for the new season at https://play.ovo.com.au
