New war paint for Brennan

Keeping up the three year tradition of a new paint scheme for a new season, the World’s Quickest Commodore has met a rousing response from race fans.
“The new look has won us a new bunch of fans,” said Maurice Brennan, pilot of the 2500 horsepower Australian icon, who was happy with landing the car in fourth spot after the Grand Opening of the new Motorplex season.

“This car is a great business card for PPG paints and Adaptable Smash Repairs, and to get the car down the strip straight and with some promising data, we’re really looking forward to the next outing on November 20.”

“We’ve just got the best people around us to produce a car like this and that’s why our team enjoys racing so much. I was privileged to have all three of our major sponsors on board with us on Saturday, with Joondalup Carpet Court, K-Trans and Crown Integrated, and while that creates extra pressure to impress, it brings a great sense of camaraderie knowing that we’re all in this together,” he said.

The weekend started well with qualifying netting a conservative 6.69 and 6.79 respectively, but the highlight was disposing of current National Top Doorslammer Champion, John Zappia in the first round of eliminations with a 6.28 second pass at 228 mph.

However the experimental 7.36 against Adam Croker’s slick 6.13 second effort in the KTrans Top Comp B-Final would land the World’s Quickest Commodore in the fourth spot for the weekend.

“We tried some new stuff this weekend and despite the fourth placing, we’re really happy with the results and are really looking forward to the next outing on November 20.”
