Carter runs first SS/A six

Greg Carter ran .373 seconds under the national record for SS/A with a 6.986 second pass at Perth Motorplex on Saturday.

Powered by a 667ci Steve Schmidt Competition Engine, Carter broke the track record once again with the 6.98 at 198.67mph.

As this was not a championship Rocket Allstars round the national record could not be reset but watch out for the Rocket Allstars, Westernationals at the Perth Motorplex in March next year where Greg could change the ink on that mark.

A brief history of the Pro Auto Cobalt prior to the new Record setting pass:

Pro Auto proprietor, Greg Carter, debuted the new Chev Cobalt SS drag car at a testing session on Wednesday 27th October 2010. The brand new Jerry Bickel built car, straight from the USA, is absolutely a work of art and showed early potential with an easy as anything 7.38 time slip on its very first shakedown pass.
