Drag racing fans will enjoy a late Christmas present with an action packed episode of SBS Speedweek covering the Slamfest 2 event at Calder Park Raceway in November set to be broadcast this Sunday December 26.

Featuring sixteen Doorslammers from all over Australia racing over the eighth mile, Slamfest 2 marked the return of top line drag racing to the Melbourne facility. Competitors included Quensland’s Gary Phillips, Victor and Ben Bray, New South Welshmen Maurice Fabietti, Deno Brijeski, Peter Blake, Sean Mifsud, Steve Dupond, Brett Gillespie, Phil Glendenning, Reece Melenewycyz, Frank Mamone,  plus Slamfest 1 winner Matt Abel and Scott McLean from the Northern Territory along with local Victorian drivers Peter Kapiris and Tony De Felice. The multi round format used for Slamfest events is extremely popular with the racers and fans alike while the eighth mile format so successful in the USA means the action is all concentrated right in front of the fans.

In addition to the Doorslammer coverage, the Speedweek show will also include Pro Stock action. Check your local guide for broadcast times around Australia.
