Palmyra Dragway has announced they will be switching sanction to IHRA Australia, with a three year agreement signed last week.

Situated in Mackay, Queensland and recently getting some vital upgrades, the quarter mile venue is one of the longest and oldest facilities in Australia.

IHRA Australia CEO Maurice Allen said that the announcement was positive for Queensland drag racing, giving racers three venues to choose from under IHRA sanction, alongside Springmount Raceway and Willowbank Raceway.

“The growth of drag racing in Queensland at the moment is fantastic and exciting, and the addition of Palmyra Dragway is terrific for the future growth and sustainability for the sport,” he said.
