The three day long APSA Pro Street testing marathon culminated in a epic day at Sydney Dragway.
Where do we start with today’s testing, for a close test session it was bursting at the seems.
Paul Mouhayet has a bracket car, the Moits Mustang racked off a couple of 6.12’s
Sam Fenech went quicker again punching out a 6.32 from the blown Outlaw 10.5 Grand Am, with a pedal mind you.
After a long layoff Michelle Davies is back, blasting a 6.58 at 216mph PB with her Outlaw 10.5 Torana.
Nikki Hepburn had the Gemini back on the ET track with a 7.13 at 197mph
Steve Athans has been chasing that six second ET and it happened in a big way, smashing the barrier with a 6.88 at 216mph.
Rob Campisi was still fighting horrid tyre shake for a 6.40.
The GAS Racing Mustang took the scenic route for his 6.11 best ET of the day.
New to the Pro Street Blown scene, Glen Forster continues to creep up on it carding a 7.63 181mph.
Likewise Mick Duggan is getting his Nova solidly to half track now as the confidence grows. Though suffered another big blower pop on his final run during the burnout, starting a small methanol fire that was quickly extinguished by the fire crew.
The Might Mite Monaro is still getting the better of Craig Hewitt, I am sure the boys will have it sorted soon, the car is just a animal off the line.
It has taken three days but Daniel Nunziante finally had the radials hooked up and a 7.16 at 207mph was the result.
Dion Amato achieved his goal of a seven second pass, the six cylinder Barra machine stopped the clocks with a 7.97 at 197mph.
It wasn’t pretty and Tomi Raikko was off the pedal way way early (only 129mph), but never the less a 7.99 was still a seven second pass and hints the potential of the new twin turbo combo.
7.55 at 181mph for Michael McGrath’s nitrous Torana.
With chute dramas fixed Joe Gauci had the Dandy Engines turbo XW back in the sevens with a 7.86 at 186mph.
A couple of new rotarys debuted out of the PAC stable. Anthony Daquino was back with a new RX3 following a horrendous two car incident several years ago, and Steven Barrett in a new RX3 coupe, though no representative times were run.
A full pass finally happened for Phil Lamattina, a 4.72 at 298mph stopped the hair pulling for now.
Steve Stanic has been dialing in this new Supercharged Outlaw altered over the last two days, now it was time for owner Rob Coote to begin his licensing.
Andrew Micallef was all torqued up, a 9.43 at 115mph shows there is plenty left in this turbo Torrie.
John “JB” Somoracz was sorting out recently retired Junior Dragster racer Naomi Lightowler’s future Super Sedan.
9.21 at 147mph.
8.40 161mph.
8.08 at 170mph.
8.98 at 144mph.
Adam Buffet with the nitrous on went a soft 8.91 at 158mph.
9.05 at 154 for another new car in X275 belonging to Adam Styles.
8.85 at 146mph for another returning racer in Brett Oldfield and his chopped nitrous Cortina.
Chris Deegan had Brett Gillespie lending a hand, a 8.43 at 161mph for the relatively new tough Torrie.
