In as many weeks drag racing has seen two almost identical accidents on different continents. First it was Tim Tindle’s horrifying Pro Mod crash at the US Nationals, now English racer Graham Ellis experienced a similar terrifying accident at Santa Pod.

Ellis’ turbo Plymouth Superbird turned right and climbed over the wall destroying itself on the outfield in a series of sickening tumbles. Ellis was reported conscious after the wreck though has suffered a number of fractures and Drag News wishes him well.

These accidents have highlighted the dangers of what can just happen and the importance of track safety for everyone concerned.
