Following yet another successful year the JP Racing Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series is set to return in 2014. Warwick Dragway will host the first round of the 2014 series, which will also travel to Willowbank Raceway, Benaraby Raceway and Ironbark Raceway across the year.

In 2014 the Series will also introduce a brand new bracket to be known as FG Loy & Sons Earthmoving Eighth Mile Outlaws, which will feature supercharged, nitrous and turbo-fuelled sedans, dragsters and altered racers. This bracket will replace the 2103 Old School Bracket.

Series organiser John Winterburn said he was pleased to confirm the 2014 Series dates following a successful 2013 campaign.

“In 2014 we will see the fifth running of the JP Racing Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series and I couldn’t be more proud,” said Winterburn.

“When we came up with this concept five years ago we just wanted to provide the racers of South East Queensland with a fun racing series which took in some of our great regional tracks and the support we have received from the competitors and venues alike has just surpassed all of our expectations right from the get-go.

“The 2013 series saw continued growth in competitor and spectator support and we now feel the time is right to introduce a new bracket for next year which will allow us to inject another exciting element to our program.

“This new bracket will certainly add to the spectacle and variety for race fans across all of our regional tracks so I am very excited to see how it is received when we first hit the track at Warwick Dragway in February.”

The FG Loy & Sons Earthmoving Eighth Mile Outlaws bracket will be joined on track during the 2014 JP Racing Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series by the RD Williams Excavator Parts Modified, John William Auto Sales Super Sedan, Ice Slushee Super Street Queensland Nameplate Group Modified Bike and Diamond T Products Junior Dragster brackets.

Kicking off at Warwick Dragway on 8 February, the series will then head to Willowbank Raceway on 26 April for round two. Benaraby Raceway will then host round three on 2 August before the final round gets going at Ironbark Raceway on 27 September 2014.
