Ride along in Australia’s quickest aspirated drag car

Kyle Putland continues to be on a roll in Western Australia’s domestic Super Comp series after two wins in a row with his A/Altered.

The altered is the quickest naturally aspirated car in the country (6.59 seconds quick in fact) and Putland explained that new tyres and perhaps a reduction in horsepower thanks to the weather have helped recently to get him down the track uber-fast.

“We put some new rubber on it and the spilt times from the 60 all the way down the track were a lot faster than we had gone before,” he said.

Perth Motorplex’s Super Comp bracket is made up of the naturally aspirated Competition classes, Super Stock and Super Compact categories.

Putland’s two wins came in different ways, with record performances during the first one but the second one earned as much through good luck as good management with a series of red lights against his Harness Master altered.

“I was happy to walk away with the win but disapointed the numbers the car should have run didn’t come through for us,” he said.
