Race day for the Sydney round of the 2022 Kenda Tires 660 Drag Radial Series backed up the insane performances from testing, and then some. Across the event, radial records were belted over and over from the the very first pass of the day.
The 2022 Kenda Tires 660 Drag Radial Series is now in full swing with a big field from the radial tyre army taking on round two of the series, and their first point scoring opportunity now there are no border restrictions.
Blowers to the front! Wade Wagstaff laid down a Outlaw Radial record 3.68/204MPH in his ’57 Chev in testing. While the Small Tyre Shootout for $5k was stopped by rain at the semi final stage.

The abysmal weather on the East Coast has unfortunately claimed this weekend’s opening round of the Kenda Tires 660 Drag Radial Series at Willowbank Raceway, but a few cars managed some laps in testing.
The popular Kenda Tires 660 Drag Radial Series has turned into a real radial racing showcase in Australia and each event out does the previous in improvements and innovations as the scene head on a steep upward trajectory. Testimony to this is amount of investment dollars being thrown into the scene to compete by racers right now, with some phenomenal machinery now on track and coming in the future
Even though the Kenda Tires 660 Drag Radial Series eventually succumbed to the fickle Sydney weather, it whet our radial tyre taste buds and teased what could have been.
With 2020 being a disruptive year not as many Kenda events have been able to successfully run, but Radial Redemption in September promises to be the event to be at for radial racing in 2020. Although the entrants are limited to states not currently restricted from Queensland due to COVID-19, this has not stopped the legendary twin turbo Mustang of RPM Melbourne from making an appearance.
