Despite a promising outlook for raceday, Rapisarda Racing fell victim to hot shoe and eventual runner up Antron Brown in today’s elimination rounds at the O’Reilly Winternationals.

Rapisarda Racing’s maiden foray on the NHRA tour for 2012 ended prematurely at the hands of series powerhouse Antron Brown in the first round of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Winternationals. Brown running 3.83/322 mph while Cory McClenathan posted a 5.902 108.47 mph.

“We smoked the tyres just off the startline,’ according to crew chief, Keith Stewart.

“The car had its best ever time to the 60 foot marker but over the weekend we had been struggling to get the power level up and now we need to calm the engine. A positive from the weekend is that we didn’t tear up any parts.”

Rapisarda Racing next meet on the Full Throttle series is the Arizona Nationals at Firebird International Raceway in Phoenix, Arizona.
