The inaugural National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC) event was an ambitious challenge for both the promoter and the brand new Dragway At The Bend facility, and that was before the weather gods threw in added complications.
Events are rolling out quickly at the Perth Motorplex now there new season is underway with the WA Quarter Mile Masters run on Nov 11, an event celebrating the WA’s drag racing icons and featuring the first round of the WA Top Doorslammer and Top Fuel Motorcycle championship.
Typical October weather, warm enough during the day to trick you, when the sun drops to the west, the temperature soon plummets! Saturday October 28 saw the first major Drag Racing event of the season at the Perth Motorplex, with 114 teams entering into the WA Drag Racing Series Opener.
By the end of the grand-opening Spring Nationals at the brand-new Dragway at The Bend, more than 35,000 race fans delighted in an incredible weekend of racing thanks to the new National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC).
The final round of the 2023 Kenda 660 Tires Drag Radial Series headed to North Queensland with Willowbank Raceway out of action, along with a whole bunch of radial tyre warriors to fight out the final round of the championship.
Street Machine’s Drag Challenge has kicked off and christened Dragway At The Bend as the first event to host drag cars at the brand new facility.
