It was billed as the ultimate drag racing show and so far, the Gulf Western Oil Winternationals has more than lived up to its name – with world and Australian records broken today in qualifying ahead of what is expected to be a truly intense day of racing for National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC) Gold on Sunday at Willowbank Raceway.
The biggest event of the year is underway! The 58th Gulf Western Oil Winternationals roared to life today with the opening day featuring NDRC Aeroflow Sportsman Championship action at Willowbank Raceway.
The traditional Winter Warm Ups have provided an early glimpse at some of the action and new machinery set to feature at the Gulf Western Oil Winternationals, while also giving racers a final opportunity to test and refine their combinations before championship racing gets underway.
The first round of racing for BLAHST Top Fuel at the Gulf Western Oil Nitro Champs delivered dramatic scenes at Sydney Dragway on Sunday morning, as Damien Harris’ Atlantic Oils Rapisarda Autosport International dragster bucked and snapped across the track, come scarily close to his opponent in the process.
On the eve of drag racing utopia in NSW, the NDRC Gulf Western Oil Nitro Champs is about to explode into action at Sydney Dragway. As a teaser for this weekend a test and tune held on Wednesday gave racers a last minute opportunity to fine tune ahead of the next round on the National Drag Racing Championship.
Sydney Dragway turned back the clock with Bangers & Mash, polishing up the nostalgia drag racing scene in style. The event paid tribute to the pioneers and eras that shaped the sport, with wheelstanding gassers, nitro-charged funny cars and altereds lighting up the track. Off-track, chrome bumper classics, flame-throwing cacklers and rock ’n’ roll vibes kept the old school spirit alive for one unforgettable day at the strip.
Daniel ‘Pazzo’ Nunziante is no stranger to Radial and Pro Street records, but his new twin-turbo Fox Body 275 radial Mustang came with its fair share of early curve-balls. Now, with the bugs sorted, Pazzo is back in full swing — and he’s knocking down records, not just Australian records, but World records.
It has been a somewhat tumultuous year for the Queensland Drag Racing Championship. Over half the events to date finished with out much of result due a luckless run with the weather, this weekend (Nov 14) the teams shape up for season’s Grand Final which will be in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
2025 Street Machine Magazine Drag Challenge criss-crossed the southern states once again with record entries fronting up for the epic five day drag racing adventure.
The Sydney Dragway NSW Championship has been powering along, with rounds five and six wrapped up over the past couple of months — now it’s all building toward the big finish, with the penultimate round set to hit the track this weekend.
