It remains one of the most amazing vehicles seen on a drag strip in Australia and yet one that very few ever got to see in the flesh. Mark Sheehan’s nitro altered was mean beyond words.
It made all but one appearance, at a private test day at Perth Motorplex, making just two passes. It was built with the intention of being the world’s quickest altered. The last run was a bit of a blow for Sheehan, with the car smoking the tyres on the hit and banging the supercharger pretty severely.
Mark of course has since continued to race both in his Funny Car and Top Fuel dragster, but we are yet to see the altered again. We can but hope…until then have a look at some more photos of this rare beast below.
