Many Pro Slammer teams got an early look at the Perth Motorplex ahead of this weekend’s MacTrack Westernationals with an evening of private testing.
Paul Mouhayet made a bunch of runs over the course of the evening, having to tame the Moits Racing Ford Mustang down to get through tyre shake but eventually besting with a 5.73, the quickest of the night for those in attendance.
John Zappia made a couple of hits, the first producing a big wheelstand early while the second saw him take out a bunch of timing blocks, a 5.74 coming up on the readout boards.
Sam Fenech was impressive with a personal best 5.82 in the App Shop Camaro. We love the way this car leaves the startline, with aggressive wheels up launches.
Ben Bray drove through shake for a 5.84, but diff damage ruled him out from making a second pass.
USA doorslammer star Frankie Taylor made his first runs at Perth Motorplex and an early shut off 5.9 was his best for the evening.
Daniel Gregorini looked to be getting on top of his five speed, but this run had to be shut down after the burnout when the fuel pump sheared in the burnout.
Mark Belleri was back into some form with a tough 5.81 pass. An earlier run was two hundredths quicker to the 660, showing there is plenty left in this champion team yet.
An unfortunate footnote to the evening was when Top Sportsman driver Amanda Martin had a big braking area crash on the last run of the evening. The car got out of the groove and turned hard right into the wall at well over 150mph but Amanda thankfully emerged without major injury.
