Killer lights is what you would expect in the Top Sportsman final and Dave Gauldie dropped a .007 out of his Cutlass to Paul Doeblien’s .015 which was enough to cross the stripe first with a 7.946 on a 7.92 to a losing 8.613 on a 8.59. The win edges Gauldie closer to the top of the points but Doeblien still holds a 5 point lead over Daniel Morris.

The evenness of Modified was evident with both finalists coming from well down the championship ladder. Team mates of sorts out of the Gulf Western stable, Brett Farnell in his FED took on Stephen Sadler’s dragster in the final, but Farnell rolled the beams and Sadler launched off to an easy win.

Super Sedan was a battle of the championship leaders, with almost identical reactions, the better dial in would win it. Morris dropped the nose of his Holden across the line a fraction to quick to break out by two thou throwing the win back to Lee Sherwin’s wheelstanding Escort with a tight 9.385 on a 9.38.

Steven Day was a big mover in the championship ranks aboard his Harley jumping right up to second following a win over David Hutchinson in the Modified Bike final. Hutchinson had the holeshot in the final but rode it to hard to break out at the line. Everyone is still chasing Michael Beaton who came back to the field with only one round win but still leads by seven points.

Adam White kept his strong lead in the Super Street championship by reaching the final, but dropped maximum points with a -.013 red light against Michael Cross.
