Warrnambool and District Drag Racing Association held one of the richest regional races seen in Australia with their $10k No Prep event on Saturday, January 19, 2019.

With $5k on offer for Big Tyre and Small Tyre classes respectively, there were plenty of challengers on site to vie for the cash.

Steve Athans (pictured above) took out the Big Tyre class with his Ford Mustang, mastering the tricky airport surface and defeating Ned Karanovic’s big Chev.

Mathew Hoggan (pictured below) claimed Small Tyre with his Holden Gemini over Steve Griffin.

The Warrnambool and Districts Drag Racing Association thanked everyone who stuck with them while they sorted a new Christmas tree out at the event and got behind the no prep concept.

“No prep is something the club has never done before but we appreciate the patience as it seems a lot easier on TV than in real life,” they said.

The club’s next event is on February 16 and is a Test and Tune + Burnout event.
