Sleek new-generation Pro Stock drag race cars will compete for the first time in Victoria at Calder Park this Saturday (November 20).

The US-built spec-bodied cars will race at the Spring HorsePower Challenge event, which will also see 16 Top Doorslammer competitors from around the country compete in the Australian Eighth-mile (201metres) Doorslammer Championship round.

Known as factory Hot Rods, Pro Stock sees General Motors (Pontiac GTO, GXP and Grand Am), Ford (Mustang and Escort) and Dodge (Stratus and Avenger) models race against each other, covering the quarter-mile in the low seven-second zone at over 190mph.
