Western Australian drag racing fans were treated to night of exciting nitro racing at the Perth Motorplex last Saturday night. The AEG Powertools, Darren Morgan Racing Top Fuel Dragster combined with the Fuchs Top Fuel Dragster of Phil Lamattina for the ‘Morgan v Lamattina’ Top Fuel match race and put on an awesome display of Nitro racing.
After a 37 degree day on the Friday before the event the track was in excellent condition for racing on Saturday night. The AEG Powertools team put down a series of strong full track passes over the course of the three round series. Morgan won the final of the three runs on a hole-shot 4.773 to Lamattina’s faster but slower reacting 4.751.
The meeting was also an important data gathering event for the team. With four runs of data the team are now in a strong position to continue on their strong start to the season when they head back over to Perth for Round 4 of the ANDRA Pro Series in January.
The bright orange AEG Powertools Top Fuel Dragster will be heading to the Show Us Ya Wheels car show in Numurkah this Sunday. The event will be held on Sunday the 5th of December at the Numurkah Showgrounds. The team will be firing the car up throughout the day so make sure you head to Numurkah for your dose of Nitro.

After the Numurkah event the team will turn their attention to Round 3 of the ANDRA Pro Series which will be held at Willowbank Raceway on the 2-3 of January 2011. The team will be looking to extend their championship lead at the event.
