Territory drag racers were a force to be reckoned with over the weekend as five teams took part in Perth’s 40th annual Westernationals, and it was NT registered Top Bike rider Troy McLean that lead the charge, ending with a win on his nitro powered Harley Davidson.
Word is Brad Baker had his Mazda RX7 arrive back in Darwin on Friday after being based in New South Wales where Baker competed at Sydney Dragway. Mechanical problems hindered his chances at the 2010 Jamboree but Baker is set to take on the traditional V8’s in an ongoing friendly rivalry this season at Hidden Valley.
Darwin is set to receive one of the largest horsepower shows it has ever seen when Hidden Valley Drag Strip officially reopens on the 13th and 14th of May after a multi-million dollar upgrade.
