The nominations for the recipients for this years Australian Nostalgia Fuel Association ‘Pioneer Awards’ are being thrown open to the public.
“We would like people from all facets of our sport to nominate their favourite drivers or personalities on the ANFA website” said the ANFA’s Secretary Ross Preen.
“The consensus between the ANFA members is that we would like to reward all the Pioneers, but unfortunately we can only award six each year, that is why we would like the racing fraternity to nominate the recipients’.
Nominations will be spread over three categories, comprising Fuel, Sportsman and Journalist/Photographer/Importer.
In the Fuel category, there will be two awarded, Sportsman will have three and one in the remaining category. (Subject to conditions explained on the site).
Nominations can take place on the ANFA website from 1st June until 31st July. The individuals with the highest number of nominations will then be tabled at the ANFA AGM in August and the recipients will be notified and an announcement made in early September. The actual awards will be made at the Rocket Open Day/Nostalgia Drags at Sydney Dragway on 17th-18th November on the Saturday evening at the track in the grand marquee. The ANFA will also be hosting a complimentary BBQ on the Saturday night and all racers and fans are welcome.
