Hidden Valley Drag Strip is set to be the home of horsepower this weekend as the 2014 NT Titles Presented by 7mate kicks off on Friday night with teams from across the Territory converging on the Valley.

Andrew Armistead is set to make the trek north from Alice Springs for the second year in a row to defend his Top Sportsman title from 2013.

After defeating Grant Radcliffe in a close double breakout in 2013, the friendly Top End/Central Australian rivalry is sure to make for some nail biting racing.

Top Sportsman, Super Street and Street Car competitors are all going to have to be on their game with a contingent of Alice Springs teams making the trek north including Chris Jackson in Street Car and Conan Latham in Super Street.

For some Top End locals this will be the first time back on track after an extended hiatus. Bronte Henning is set to debut his new 1958 Corvette Supercharged Outlaw which remains under wraps until Friday, while Robert Gough makes a return in his supercharged Holden WB to compete in Top Sportsman.

But its not all just about the drag racing. The Titles will also feature the annual NT Titles Burnout Competition on Friday night with several crowd favourites set to take on the Remote Asset Services Colosseum including Ben Carter, Sam Locke and Joe White.

Combined with the Shannons Super Rig, children’s rides and giveaways it’s going to be two action packed nights for the entire family.

The 2014 NT Titles Presented by 7mate commences with qualifying and burnouts on Friday 16 May and feature racing on Saturday 17 May.
